Meet the exec
President - Alec
I am currently in the last year of my Economics and Politics degree and started learning Argentine Tango at the start of my first year. With no prior experience in any professional dancing I immediately found myself in an extremely supportive society who helped me throughout some challenging (but very enjoyable!) lessons. I am no professional and still have lots of learning to do. No lesson I have found boring and even I, as the president, learn lots of new things every week! We are all very welcoming to any dancers at any levels and would gladly see you at one of our lessons for you to try out Argentine Tango.

Vice President - Evgenia
- Hello and welcome to the Warwick Argentine Tango family! My name is Evgenia and I am a second-year LLB Law student. I joined the society only recently and since day one, I felt very welcome - both the previous exec and members enthusiastically embraced newcomers, despite their level of (no) tango experience. Argentine Tango is a social dance, thus, apart from the lessons and milongas, be prepared to meet some lovely people and learn together. Like with every new skill you are trying to develop, in the beginning you will probably feel clumsy; in time, with practice, I am certain you will fall in love with it!
Treasurer - Ahilleas
Hey, I'm Ahilleas. I'm a second year PhD student in philosophy. I've been a member of the tango society since 2017 and decided to become part of the exec to be a more integral member of the society. As treasurer my duty will be to allocate funds accordingly so as to give all members the best possible experience.

Social Sec - Sara
I’m Sara, an Italian languages student here at Warwick, currently in my final year of studies. I’ve been dancing tango for about four years now, and since stepping foot in the Argentine Tango Society at Warwick I’ve immediately felt at home and welcomed in the family! We welcome anyone with any level of dance experience, so give us a try!

Social Sec - Ismini
Welcome to Warwick Argentine Tango society. My name is Ismini and I am a first-year Global Sustainable Development with Business student. I joined the fun only recently and since day one, I fell in love with the dance and the people. We are all so very welcoming and a bunch with all levels of and even no tango experience. As it’s been said before Argentine Tango is a social dance, thus, you will need milongas to practice outside the lesson. That’s where I come in, as your social secretary I will be organising all sorts of fun events to make you fall in love with tango even more. Don’t be scared to join we don’t bite.

Secretary - Harita
Hi! I’m Harita and am a third year Maths student. I started Tango at the start of my second year and absolutely loved it. I find tango one of the most enjoyable and beautiful forms of dancing and very different form every other form of dancing I’ve ever tried. I never regretted going to that first taster session last year, as the society is extremely welcoming! There’s no doubt you’ll get to meet some wonderful people and dance a lot in a very friendly and comfortable environment. Feel free to come and say hello and if you’re hesitant about tango definitely give it a go!

Events Coordinator - Stefan
Hi, I’m Stefan and I’m a third year Maths student. I’ve been a regular member of Warwick Argentine Tango since I first joined at the start of my second year, and I also enjoy climbing and Salsa dancing. My role in the society is Events Organiser; my responsibility is to help the Social Secs with planning big events and trips. I joined because I didn’t have a clue about dancing at the time and thought it would be a fun thing to learn, as well as a great chance to meet new people.

Our Teachers - Gosia & Dawid Polak
Starting in Poland; Gosia enjoys a wide variety of dances from belly dance to pole, but it was the Argentine Tango which they could both share and love together. They moved to Coventry, UK in 2012, and brought with them their passion for Tango. They have helped to grow our society, fine tune our technique, teach new moves, and give us the confidence to become better dancers.
They are closely associated with The Raquel Greenberg Tango Academy in London, often involved in her group performances at large Tango events across the country.
In the video below, are our teachers dancing at the Cheltenham Spring Ball.
